What Your Day in the Old City Looks Like...
Step 1: pickup Point
If you choose the pickup option, a private driver (& Berat) will meet you at the doorstep of your hotel and bring you comfortably to the Old City. If you choose the meeting option, Berat will meet you at the German Fountain in Sultanahmet.
Step 2: Tour begins
During the historical portion of the tour, you’ll explore the Old City with a licensed English-speaking guide who specializes in Istanbul’s history and cultural landmarks. They’ll walk you through the stories behind places like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, and the Hippodrome, bringing the city’s past to life.
Step 3: The Berat Experience
For about two hours, you’ll spend time directly with Berat exploring anything you’d like in the area. This could include: visiting a rooftop for photos, shopping for rugs or souvenirs, Turkish delights or local treats. This part of the day is completely customized to you.
Step 4: Dropoff Point
After the experience, you can either continue exploring or be taken back to your hotel if you selected the pickup option.

9:30am: Meet your guide (+ berat)
Your day begins in Sultanahmet, the heart of Istanbul’s historic Old City.
If you selected hotel pickup, a private driver will bring you comfortably to the meeting point.
If you selected the meeting option, you’ll meet Berat at the German Fountain in Sultanahmet.
From here, you’ll begin exploring the Old City with your licensed English-speaking guide.

The full Old City experience typically lasts around 4–5 hours, depending on your pace and how much time you'd like to spend at each stop. We keep the schedule flexible so you can enjoy the landmarks without feeling rushed.
How much walking is involved?
The Old City is best explored on foot, however, we keep a comfortable, relaxed pace and take breaks as needed. If you prefer to move more slowly or need extra stops along the way, that’s absolutely fine, the experience is designed around your comfort.
Is this suitable for older travelers?
Yes. Many of our guests are 50+ travelers, and the experience is designed to be relaxed, flexible, and comfortable. Your guide adjusts the pace to match your group, and we make sure there are opportunities to sit, rest, and enjoy the surroundings along the way.

What should we wear?
Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended since the Old City streets are historic and often made of stone. When visiting mosques such as the Blue Mosque, modest clothing is required, shoulders and knees should be covered. Are entrance tickets included?
