The Hodjapasha sema is performed in a 550-year-old Ottoman bathhouse. Live ney and drum, a small room, and a ceremony that has been practised for seven centuries. Roughly an hour, and nothing like a stage show.
Straight after, you have a dinner reservation at a local restaurant nearby. We send you options in advance so you can decide which reservation you'd like us to secure for you.

About an hour, with no interval. It is a religious ceremony rather than a performance, so the room stays quiet throughout.
Children are welcome from around seven upwards. Younger children usually find the stillness hard going.
Smart casual is perfect. Nothing is required, but shoulders and knees covered is a respectful choice for a sacred ceremony.
